Sacred Geometry Architecture in a Timber Home

Our design for the timber home utilizing sacred geometry is on the fast track! Jeremy is working on the timber frame design and Chris is completing the elevations. The builder will take the plans to get final permits next week and work will begin right away on the foundation and site work.

The home design specifies a Insulated Concrete Foundation (ICF), evacuated tubes on the south facing portions of the home for domestic hot water and heating, SIP panels (structural insulated panels) for the walls and roof which will surround the timber frame, a greenhouse in which the homeowner will grow many organic vegetables, and a root cellar in a portion of the basement.

These are the preliminary floor plans. The room locations and proportions are governed within the design process by the use of sacred geometries such as the Golden Section and Rectangle and the Fibonacci series. Using these proportioning systems within the design process produces harmonious and natural spaces that are felt more than they are visually experienced.

The cathedral great room has generous windows to capture property views in all seasons. The kitchen, adjacent to the entry, is efficient yet spacious. The open floor plan makes entertaining easy with a large dining room table, and screened porch for summer dining.

The Master Bedroom features its own balcony for enjoying the outdoors, plus a large walk-in closet. A guest bedroom at the top of the stairs is a welcome addition for visiting guests. The reading loft creates a peaceful resting place and provides a beautiful view of the timber frame.
