One Story House Plans for a Green Home

We enjoy visiting our client’s sites and hearing about their plans for building a green home. Many couples search long and hard for that perfect property to build on, such as our clients, Brian and Gail. After years of searching, they purchased 73 acres of land in picturesque Jaffrey, New Hampshire. The property is truly a find, located on the top of a hill and offering 180-degree views of the mountains.

Jeremy’s interpretation of their ideas translated into the custom home plans below for a 2000 square foot one-story home designed for energy efficiency and low maintenance. The one story plan is both simple and efficient while accounting for future accessibility issues. The floor plan includes a quaint courtyard which takes advantage of the beautiful views while bringing nature and natural light into the home; giving the living room and the Master Bedroom suite light and ventilation on three sides. The main living spaces, as well as patios outside the master and living area maximize the southern and eastern views.

Brian and Gail will use our project management services to ensure the quality of the design is delivered during construction. Energy efficient building materials include SIP panels, an active solar hot water collection system, geothermal heating, and adaptability to allow for a future wind turbine. This green home design proves energy efficiency is beautiful!

If you’re planning to build an energy efficient home, come meet us at one of our
green events – a home show, free green home seminar or an open house!
